Dendrosenecio keniensis

Dendrosenecio keniensis

17.00

This giant groundsel towers over the icey altitudes of Mount Kenya by using frost-resistant mucilage and closing its densely packed cabbage-like rosette of leaves at night. Tall terminal spikes of upright flowers distinguish this species from D. keniodendron, whose flowers hang down. The soft wood trunk branches repeatedly and the limbs at ground level can root, leading to a horizontal (creeping) growth-form.
